Honoring Bill Daniels' direction to make life better for the people
and communities of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming

Daniels Scholar, attorney, and community advocate

State: Colorado

The Daniels Scholarship Program has had a huge impact on VanMichael Moore’s life. “I am incredibly grateful for Bill Daniels’ generosity and how it aided my academic and professional pursuits. The Daniels Fund allowed me to navigate higher education without financial barriers.” He attended the University of Denver for his undergraduate studies. “A great education, which frankly, was not cheap. I was afforded the opportunity to focus on excelling academically, without the stress of tuition or student loan debt.”

VanMichael graduated without debt – free to pursue his dream of becoming an attorney. “I am a first-generation law student in my final year of law school. Now, I am only a year away from practicing, and helping to fill the need for more Black lawyers in this country.” He accepted an offer to work for one of Colorado’s most prominent law firms, Davis Graham & Stubbs, upon graduation. Underlying his goals has been Bill Daniels’ emphasis on ethical service to the community and commitment to excellence. “I plan to serve my future clients, and the community, with honest, reliable advocacy. In addition to the life-changing aid provided by the scholarship program, I am thankful for the community of like-minded Daniels Scholars.”
