Name: Eulalio (Lalo) Alonzo

College or University:University of Denver

High School/Year You Graduated:South High School

College Major:Bachelor of Natural Sciences/Biology; Minor: Spanish

Please describe what it means to you to be a Daniels Scholar: For me, being a Daniels Scholar is unexplainable and unimaginable. Never did I think when I filled the application out that I would be here two years later at the University of Denver. I feel honored and blessed, truly blessed to have the privilege of being a Daniels scholar.

What do you like most about being in college? It's not High School! Just kidding. What I like most about College is that it is a new life for me and I am learning new things and meeting new people.

What has been the greatest challenge so far in college? Studying. I would say studying because it is something I was always vulnerable to. There was always something that came between me and school. I hope now in college that will change.

What advice would you offer someone who is applying to become a Daniels Scholar? Do not give up, Do not let go of your dreams so easily. Bill Daniels gave everything he had so that you and I  would not have to suffer the agony of not having a college education. Please work hard for this. There will come a time when you believe that you can't go on. But you will find the strength deep within you and beat your fears of failure.
