“The level of funding made available through the charitable legacy of Bill Daniels is amazing,” said Linda Childears, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund. “However, the nonprofit organizations that strengthen our communities by providing vital services, continue to struggle with a lack of funding and need everyone’s support,” she added.
The Daniels Fund will award a projected $38 million in grants and $12 million in college scholarships, totaling an estimated $50 million in funding in 2008. The program areas eligible for grants through the Daniels Fund include: Aging, Alcoholism & Substance Abuse, Amateur Sports, Disabilities, Education, Homeless & Disadvantaged and Youth Development.
