Central Wyoming Senior Services RSVP Program receives Grant to Facilitate Expansion and Promote Homeland Security Efforts

Casper, WyomingThe Central Wyoming Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, sponsored by Central Wyoming Senior Services, announced today that it has received a $25,000 Daniels Fund Grant to support its Expansion Project into the Northern half of the State.

RSVP recruits volunteers over the age of 55 to serve nonprofit agencies in the areas of Education, Human Needs, Health/Nutrition and Public Safety with an emphasis on Homeland Security.

“The grant will enable our program to reach out to the over 55 population in the northern half of the state (the majority of which is not currently served by any formal Senior Volunteer Agency) to encourage people to remain active and share their valuable life experience in their communities,” said Norma Leonard, RSVP Senior Coordinator.

The Daniels Fund operates the Daniels College Prep and Scholarship Program and the Daniels Fund Grants Program in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Utah.  The Fund was established in 1997 by Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television known for his kindness and generosity to those in need.

“The Daniels Fund grant monies will allow the RSVP Project to expand and better serve the Northern half of the state. We specifically want to match senior volunteers to work with law enforcement and emergency management agencies to help address Homeland Security Issues and train Seniors in Disaster Preparedness,” stated Leonard.
