Eligibility Requirements

Special Transit offers seniors transportation services that help them maintain
their independence while staying in the comfort of their own homes.
Eligible nonprofit organizations must provide programs or services in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, or Utah that fit within the Daniels Fund’s funding areas. Organizations with a nation-wide impact should call before applying.
- Organization applying must be classified by the Internal Revenue Services as a 501(c)(3), or equivalent.
- Daniels Fund makes grants for specific programs or projects, general operating support, or capital campaigns.
- Grants are generally awarded for 12-month periods.
- Current grantees may reapply at the end of their grant period, once all reporting requirements have been fulfilled and the organization is notified in writing.
- Organizations may only have one active grant.
- Organizations are encouraged to call first if they are a large institution such as a university or school district.
Daniels Fund generally does not support the following:
- Projects Outside Daniels Fund's programmatic funding areas and focus areas.
- Medical or scientific research.
- Arts, cultural, and museum programs, including those teaching and serving youth.
- Environmental stewardship programs.
- Candidates for political office.
- Sponsorship, tables, or tickets for special events or fundraising events.
- Debt retirement.
- Endowments.
- Fiscal sponsorhips.
