The Daniels Fund Scholarship Program consists of two distinct scholarships —
the Daniels Scholarship Program and the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship
Character, leadership, and service. These are the core values that define a Daniels Scholar.
The Daniels Scholarship Program distinguishes itself from other scholarship programs focusing purely on academic achievement or financial need by selecting young leaders of exceptional character with the desire to give back to their communities.
Bill Daniels defined the specific criteria and unique perspective used to select Daniels Scholars. In addition to overall character, we look for natural leaders with the motivation to succeed and the potential to be engaged in the community. From the thousands that apply, roughly 250 young people from Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming are awarded scholarships each year.

The Daniels Scholarship provides its Scholars with resources, encouragement, and inspiration far beyond the financial assistance to help them earn a college degree. Scholars are connected to a wide range of mentors and opportunities. They are welcomed into a community of like-minded peers united in their commitment to character, leadership, and service. Our goal is to see Daniels Scholars succeed in college, and ensure they succeed and thrive in life.
The Daniels Scholarship is a four-year scholarship that applies toward the expenses of attaining a bachelor’s degree at any nonprofit, accredited college or university in the United States.
Funding covers all or part of a student's required college expenses such as tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and other defined expenses. Ours is a supplemental — or “last dollar” — scholarship, covering the expenses that remain after all other scholarships and financial aid have been applied.
The Daniels Fund sets high expectations and emphasizes personal accountability. Scholarships are renewed each year, contingent upon successfully meeting all requirements and expectations. The character of a Daniels Scholar naturally embraces these expectations and understands the lifelong benefit of proper personal conduct.

Boundless Opportunity Scholarships are distributed to select two- and four-year colleges and universities in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. These schools then select students to receive the scholarship. Recipients must demonstrate financial
need, and each college or university may focus one or more defined populations established for the program:

- Adults entering or returning to college
- GED recipients
- Foster care youth
- Juvenile justice youth
- Returning military
- Individuals pursuing EMT / paramedic training
