The Daniels Scholarship

Application & Selection Process

New Daniels Scholars at SHIFT 2012

SELECTION CRITERIA

Daniels Scholars are selected through a community-based process.

Applicants complete a detailed online application, which is accompanied by recommendations provided by two additional supporters. Complete applications are screened for eligibility and evaluated by multiple reviewers to determine the Semifinalists.

Semifinalists provide additional eligibility documentation and participate in interviews conducted by business, community, and civic leaders from each community. These interviews determine the awarding of Daniels Scholarships to those who will become part of the 2013 Class of Daniels Scholars.

Eligible applicants are evaluated using the selection criteria established by Bill Daniels:

  • Willingness to give back to the community
  • Leadership potential
  • Academic performance or promise
  • Strength of character
  • Well-rounded personality

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

All online applications must be submitted by:

Thursday, November 29, 2012
4:00 PM Mountain Standard Time

It is important to understand that the application takes time to complete and includes several short answer questions. You will also be required to obtain two recommendations from individuals who know you well.

Do not wait until the last minute to apply. You are not required to complete the online application all at once and you may return to add or change your information, but no edits will be accepted past the November 29 deadline.
