Information for Parents
Parents and adult supporters, we’d like to welcome you to the Daniels Fund family and the area of website designed specifically with you in mind. We thank you for your support and appreciate you as partners in helping your student to have successful college experience.
We are here to help your Scholar work through any issues they may be having on campus such as difficult classes, needing a tutor, roommate conflicts, etc. Encourage them to stay in contact with their Scholarship Relations Officer. As parents and adult supporters we hope you use both the resources we provide as well as those provided by your student’s college.
Being a Daniels Scholar comes with high expectations and specific requirements. Both you and your scholar can reference the Daniels Scholarship Requirements Handbook for those requirements and our policies and procedures. Some of these requirements include:
- Scholars should check their dfscholars.org e-mail account as this is our primary mode of communication.
- Scholars are required to provide us their mailing address at school and phone number. If you have a change in your contact information we would appreciate receiving that information as well.
- Scholars are required to submit a Personal Evaluation each January to update us on their progress mid-year.
- The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) deadline, is February 28th each year or by their college priority funding date (whichever occurs first). The application can be found at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
- Scholarship Renewal is between May 1st and June 30th each year. A listing of the specific documents that make up your Scholar’s renewal packet can be found in the handbook.
We are here to answer any questions and to address your suggestions or concerns. You can contact any of the Scholarship Relations Officer at 303-393-7220 or 877-868-1212 (toll free) or reference the listing of Scholarship Relations Staff.
