Daniels Fund approves $18.4 million in grants to
outstanding nonprofit organizations

Organizations dedicated to improving the educational system, and others that serve youth, seniors, the disabled, and the homeless are among the recipients of $18.4 million in grants by the Daniels Fund in the first half of 2014.

The Daniels Fund awards approximately $33 million in grants annually, and since inception has awarded more than $535 million in grants and scholarships in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.

Major grant recipients in Colorado include: 1311 York Street Club, Ability Connection Colorado, Alliance for Choice in Education, American Legion Colorado Boys State, Colorado Adaptive Sports Foundation, Colorado Humanities, Colorado Outward Bound School, Denver Police Activities League, Family Tree, Girls Scouts of Colorado, Florence Crittenton Services, Grand Valley Catholic Outreach, National Jewish Health, Qualistar Colorado, Southeast Mental Health Service, Special Olympics Colorado, STRIVE Preparatory Schools, The Gathering Place, Teach for America-Colorado, United States Association of Blind Athletes, and YouthBiz.

Grant recipients in Wyoming include: 12-24 Club, Boys Scouts of America-Greater Wyoming Council, Central Wyoming Rescue Mission, Fathers in the Field, Food Bank of the Rockies-Wyoming Support, Interfaith of Natrona County, Senior Citizens Council, and Young at Heart Senior Citizens Center.

Grant recipients in Utah include: Children’s Service Society of Utah, House of Hope, Wagner Jewish Community Center, Junior Achievement of Utah, Parents for Choice in Education Foundation, Utah Food Bank, and Utah State University Foundation’s Tele-Intervention Project.

Grant recipients in New Mexico include: Care 66, Native American Community Academy Foundation, Santa Fe Public Schools Teaching Fellows Program, Teach for America-New Mexico, The Food Depot, United Way of Central New Mexico, and United Way of Santa Fe.
