“Ethics in Social Media” theme of summit
Daniels Fund summit draws undergraduate students,
faculty, and business leaders from eight universities
DENVER – “Ethics in Social Media” is the theme for the Daniels Fund 2014 Ethics Consortium Summit, taking place October 23-24 at the University of Denver and the Grand Hyatt Denver. The Ethics Summit will facilitate interaction and conversation among participants in a series of keynote presentations, panels, and small group discussions. Topics will include social media 101, intellectual property, privacy, social media “explosions” and more.
Participants include undergraduate students, faculty members, and business leaders representing eight universities involved with the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative. Engagement of business leaders will extend the Summit’s relevance and value beyond the campus and into the business world.
“The goal of this summit is to demonstrate that ethics and education are central to the creation of long-term value in business and society,” says Linda Childears, President and CEO of Daniels Fund. “Bill Daniels firmly believed that principle-based ethics was first and foremost in his business relationships.”
Kicking off the Ethics Summit Thursday evening is keynote speaker Matthew Berry, ESPN's Senior Fantasy Sports analyst. Friday’s speakers and panelists will include Andy Hinton, Global Ethics & Compliance Officer from Google, Sharon Zealey, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer for The Coca-Cola Company, and social media experts from 7News, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, New Belgium Brewing, Mountain States Employees Council, and several universities.
