How the Daniels Fund Scholarship has impacted my life:

Please describe what it means to you to be a Daniels Scholar:   I have never felt so privileged in my life.  I feel like someone exceptionally important because of the Daniel's Fund.  My life would be SO much different.  Being a Daniel's scholar has opened up a plethora of doors for me.  I have met a tremendous amount of amazing people the last 4 years.  We have kept in touch, which is special.  To be affiliated with the Daniel's Fund has been probably the biggest part of my life, and I never want it to end.  I have learned so much from these people, I don't know what I would do without all of the experience.  It means beyond a lot to be a Daniel's scholar.

What do you like most about being in college?   What I like most about being in college are the people and the challenges.  Independence is a great thing, and it builds character that you won't know you have until later in life.  I have met so many different types of awesome people, and I think that is great.  It helps one to have an open mind, and to think about many different types of life styles.  College has brought so many different challenges.

What has been the greatest challenge so far in college?    The greatest challenge in college has been trying to be an "all around" person.  Trying to keep the grades high, run competitively, be a good friend to all the amazing people I meet, dealing with family and home-sickness, learning how to do everything on my own, and other little petty stuff is a challenge to do when you want to be the best you can be for everything.

What advice would you offer someone who is applying to become a Daniels Scholar?    Advice I would give to an applicant for the DF is "Get ready for an experience of a lifetime that will be with you forever!"  Get ready to be overwhelmed with beautiful people and great challenges.  I would also say to stay on top of requirements and be responsible!  Everything matters in the end.
