How the Daniels Fund Scholarship has impacted my life:

Please describe what it means to you to be a Daniels Scholar:   Having the honor of becoming a Daniels Scholar has definitely been a blessing for me. This honor has given me the opportunity to pave the way for a successful future, enabling me to touch the lives of others, and create a positive change wherever I may be.

What do you like most about being in college?   One thing I like most about being in college is the chance to choose my own classes, and make my own schedule! It feels good to have Fridays off!  I also discovered talents I would have never known of, had I not received the opportunity to become a Daniels Scholar.

What has been the greatest challenge so far in college?    My greatest challenge within college has been finding out where my true passions really lie. Taking my undergrad classes, and everyday experiences throughout life has definitely allowed me the ability to discover who it is I really am. I always yearned to be able to help people within the medical field, but I was able to discover that there are so many other venues that would enable me to help others. Since I have discovered that, I have been very excited at knowing that the career field I will eventually be in is where I was meant to be.

What advice would you offer someone who is applying to become a Daniels Scholar?    Working at the Boys & Girls Club, I am actually mentoring young students now, who are applying for the Daniels Fund! It is great, because it has enabled me to lead by example, and inspire them to have the drive to become successful individuals. The previous individual I was in contact with actually received the Daniels Fund.  I was SO happy for him, and seeing his reaction reminded me when I first learned that I had the honor of becoming a Daniels Scholar!
