How the Daniels Fund Scholarship has impacted my life:

Please describe what it means to you to be a Daniels Scholar:   Being a Daniel's Scholar means everything to me. The Daniel's Fund Scholarship has not only provided an opportunity for me to further my education, but it also provides a support system. Any questions or concerns that I have can be answered through the staff at the Daniel's Fund.

What do you like most about being in college?   I was definitely nervous about college at first, but I love the fact that I can choose classes that will benefit me the most and that I am living independently with all of my own responsibility.

What has been the greatest challenge so far in college?   The greatest challenge in college so far has been that I am really close to my family and it was hard for me to get adjusted to college because I wanted to be at home with them.

What advice would you offer to someone who is applying to become a Daniels Scholar?   My advice to someone who is applying for the Daniel's Fund is to do everything in your power to show that you are serious about college. This will possibly be an opportunity of a lifetime to attend college. Use this opportunity and make the most out of it so that you will get the most benefit. Lastly, do not be afraid to be an over achiever when it comes to applying and preparing for the Daniel's Fund process because everybody at the Daniel's Fund is trying to understand what you want to do, what your values are and what drives you to bring change and make this world a better place. Do your best and work as hard as you can.
