How the Daniels Fund Scholarship has impacted my life:

Please describe what it means to you to be a Daniels Scholar:   To be a Daniels Scholar means to uphold the high honor of being able to say you were chosen to be a part of something so elite, and while in doing this, also being true to yourself. Going above and beyond for a Daniels Scholar is a standard. Reaching the stars is an everyday goal. As a Daniel Scholar, it means that I do not strive to be the best that I can be, I strive to be more.

What do you like most about being in college?   I like the independence of being in college. I am in control of my future and I learn from everything, even my failures.

What has been the greatest challenge so far in college?   Coincidentally, my greatest challenge is also my independence. I did not realize how much discipline I lacked when in high school because so much of my life was structured for me.

What advice would you offer someone who is applying to become a Daniels Scholar?   Don't be afraid to fail. Just because you fail, doesn't mean you are a failure.  You are only a failure when you stop trying. So get up and keep going. Oh, and stay in touch with your SRO. They are awesome and provide plenty of support!
