How the Daniels Fund Scholarship has impacted my life:

Please describe what being a Daniels Scholar means to you:    Being a Daniels Scholar means that someone has invested in my future, so that I can change the world and give back. Therefore, I will not be taking this opportunity for granted. As a Daniels Scholar, I must strive to my highest potential so that I may contribute to my community. And when I do, I will remember that the Daniels Fund gave me the chance and time to make a difference!

What do you like most about being in college?     I love the freedom I have here at college. Being on my own has made me more mature and independent. I really feel like an adult more and more every day. I also love meeting so many people from various backgrounds who I now call my friends!

What has been the greatest challenge so far in college?    The greatest challenge for me about college is getting involved. I am more focused on trying to ensure that I am well-adjusted academically, that I have not taken the time to become involved in organizations. However, I do plan to change this my sophomore year!

What advice would you offer to someone applying to become a Daniels Scholar?    My advice to someone applying for the Daniels Fund would be to be completely yourself. Do not try to change who you are in order to fit the description of what you think a Daniels Scholar is. If you are honest, that is all you need! The Daniel Fund recognizes genuine people and those are the people that they want to invest in!
