Gayle Greer’s career in cable television and internet service
made her one of the country’s most prominent business executives.
In 1998, Gayle retired from Time Warner Entertainment, a division
of AOL Time Warner. She served in several capacities during her
twenty-year tenure, including Senior Vice President of Time Warner
Communications and Group Vice President of Time Warner Cable.
Ms. Greer had responsibility for 35 cable systems with over 350,000
customers in 33 states. She also managed the integration of telephony
and cable operations in several cable divisions.
Ms. Greer served as Co-founder and Chairwoman of GS2.Net, a business
service provider that delivered managed application solutions
to emerging and aggressive growth companies in the broadband services
market, and to the charitable giving market through BS2.Net’s
portfolio company, Donor Net.
Ms Greer received her bachelor and masters degrees from the University
of Houston. She is co-founder and past Chairwoman of the National
Association of Minorities in Cable and Telecommunication. She
also serves on the board of directors of ING North America Financial
Services Company, Atlanta, GA, eLEC Communications Inc., White
Plains, NY and One World Theater of Austin, TX
Gayle served as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Mile High United
Way from 1990-1992 and chaired the Allocations Committee from
1988-1990. She also served on Young Americans Bank Board of 1998-1999.
Gayle’s management experience also includes over 10 years
with non-profit organizations with an emphasis on community development
and empowerment, job development and affordable housing. She has
significant experience working with diverse groups and individuals
in a wide variety of disciplines and institutions. Ms Greer has
been featured in the Denver-based magazine, In the Black, and
has appeared as a guest panelist on “Oprah”. The recipient
of several awards and recognition including Time Warner’s
Andrew Heiskell Community Services Award, The National Cable Televisions
Association’s Vanguard Award for Leadership, the L. Patrick
Mellon Mentorship Award and has been featured in the Denver Business
Journal’s 1997-2001 Who’s Who in Telecommunications.
Ms Greer resides in Round Rock TX, where she is involved with
volunteering and advising small start-up companies.
